about

devotional objects, automatons, phenomenology, theatre

I am an assistant professor in the Humanities Department at NYCCT, CUNY. My dissertation on medieval Iberian performance laid the groundwork for further investigations into the social relationships between ritual celebrants and their performance objects.

The mission of this blog is to create 1) an archive of ideas, documents, and electronic traces and 2) a  node within a network of disciplinary agendas, temporalities, and geographies. Controversies are welcome; accidents the norm.

As the blog begins to take more shape, I hope to invite guest writers and co-contributors to enter the conversation.  In the meantime, feel free to comment on any of the content.
